Seattle Times: Clipper Acquired; Plans New Routes

In today’s edition of The Seattle TimesSeattle-based and founded Clipper announced it was acquired by global shipping and ferry group, FRS. Clipper, operator of Clipper Vacations, operates the Victoria Clipper ferry service from Seattle to Victoria, and Seattle to the San Juan Islands. Clipper also provides vacation package options for visitors and locals alike to explore the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada.

As a result of the acquisition, Clipper will be expanding its Canadian service with a new hub in Vancouver connecting downtown Victoria with downtown Vancouver. For those of us in Seattle that means you will soon be able to travel from downtown Seattle to downtown Vancouver, via Victoria.

Clipper Founder CEO and Board Chair Merideth Tall will continue to lead the company and remains a minority owner.
